Program Description
The HCF Summer Internship Program provides practical experience to third-year undergraduate students pursuing careers in the medical field. Each summer, two paid interns shadow in various departments at Sidney Regional Medical Center as well as other medical fields within the region.- Provide interns with better understanding of the rural healthcare system
- Enable observation and active participation in collaborative efforts of various departments and services
- Help participants learn what high-quality, compassionate care looks like
Goals
- Third-year undergraduate students pursuing careers in the medical field
- Interest in various medical career paths (healthcare professionals)
Eligibility
- Timeline: Begins shortly after spring college semester completion and ends prior to fall course beginning
- Specifics: Timeline determined by program coordinator and selected students
- Housing: Available for those away from home
- Number of Awards: Two internships annually
