Summary
The Subgroup Awards for Intrinsically Disordered Proteins recognizes outstanding postdoctoral fellows in biophysics, particularly those researching intrinsically disordered proteins. Awardees receive an honorarium and present their work at the IDP symposium. This initiative encourages diversity by inviting applications from women and underrepresented scientists. Biophysics applies physics principles to biological systems, enhancing our understanding of life processes. This award highlights the importance of innovative research in this vibrant scientific field.Overview
NOTE: The deadline represents when the Nomination is due. What Is Biophysics? Biophysics is the field that applies the theories and methods of physics to understand how biological systems work. Biophysics has been critical to understanding the mechanics of how the molecules of life are made, how different parts of a cell move and function, and how complex systems in our bodies—the brain, circulation, immune system, and others— work. Biophysics is a vibrant scientific field where scientists from many fields including math, chemistry, physics, engineering, pharmacology, and materials sciences, use their skills to explore and develop new tools for understanding how biology—all life—works. Intrinsically Disordered Protein Subgroup Postdoctoral Award About the Award The Postdoctoral Award of the IDP subgroup honors outstanding Postdoctoral Fellows for their research accomplishments during their postdoctoral career. Two Postdoctoral Award winners are selected from submitted nomination packets. The award includes an oral presentation at the IDP symposium and an Honorarium.Eligibility
