Summary

The Biophysical Society's Early Career Award in Mechanobiology honors a young Principal Investigator who has significantly advanced our understanding of how mechanics influence molecular and cellular processes. This prestigious award not only recognizes outstanding contributions in the field of Mechanobiology but also provides an opportunity for the recipient to present their work at the Mechanobiology Subgroup Symposium during the BPS Annual Meeting, fostering collaboration and innovation in biophysics.

Overview

NOTE: The deadline represents when the Nomination is due. What Is Biophysics? Biophysics is the field that applies the theories and methods of physics to understand how biological systems work. Biophysics has been critical to understanding the mechanics of how the molecules of life are made, how different parts of a cell move and function, and how complex systems in our bodies—the brain, circulation, immune system, and others— work. Biophysics is a vibrant scientific field where scientists from many fields including math, chemistry, physics, engineering, pharmacology, and materials sciences, use their skills to explore and develop new tools for understanding how biology—all life—works. Early Career Award in Mechanobiology About the Award The BPS Early Career Award in Mechanobiology recognizes a young Principal Investigator who has made outstanding contributions to the way we understand how mechanics shape molecular and cellular processes. The award recipient will be invited to present his/her work at the Mechanobiology Subgroup Symposium during the BPS Annual Meeting.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. Applicant Criteria:Nominee must have made exceptional contributions to the field of Mechanobiology.
