Study of Collections Fellowships Grant

The Study of Collections Fellowships, offered by the American Society of Overseas Research (ASOR), provide two $2,000 grants for ASOR members to support the study of collections, including museum and archival resources. Eligible applicants must be current members and may use the funds for travel and related expenses. Preference is given to those with a Ph.D. in relevant fields and who have not received ASOR funding in the last five years. Applications must detail any additional funding.

Research Fellowships for ASOR Members
ASOR provides research funding for members through the Study of Collections Fellowships, Dar Ben Gacem Tunisian Fellowships, Herbert Warren Mason Fellowships, and Mesopotamian Fellowships.
Pending the receipt of funds, ASOR is pleased to offer two fellowships of $2,000 each to support the study of collections this year. Applicants must be current ASOR members. The collections covered by these fellowships include museum and archival collections, repositories, or collections of national authorities. The fellowship funds may be used to support travel and per diem expenses. Other direct expenses are permissible, but they may not exceed one-third of the funds received from ASOR.

Eligibility

Applicants must be current ASOR members.These fellowships may be combined with other research funds, but this support must be described in the application.The selection process will take into account the quality of research, the scope and type of the material being studied, and the impact of the proposed research.
