AAA awards over $60,000 to student, postdoc and early career members in travel awards to help attend our annual meeting, Anatomy Connected. Travel awards in the amount of $350 for current student/postdoc members who submit an abstract and present at Anatomy Connected. Travel awards will be given to the first 150 student/postdoc members (current through 12/31/2026) who apply. In addition, early career members can apply for a $1,000 award. Recipients are also eligible for the onsite Student and Postdoc Competition Awards, with prizes as high as $500 per winner. Complete details about each award are below. Please read all information thoroughly! Travel Awards Available for the first 150 current AAA student/postdoc who apply and submit an abstract to be presented at Anatomy Connected. These awards provide funds to help offset the cost of travel to attend the meeting. All travel award applicants are also eligible for the on-site competition awards.Students and Postdoc Members - first step is to submit your abstract by the December 15th abstract deadline. When you submit your abstract, apply for the Competition Awards (through the abstract site). The competition awards are competitive and your abstract will be reviewed and scored by the CECA committee. Then, log into our Awards Application Portal and apply for a $350 Student/Postdoc Travel Award by January 12. It is important that you are logged in as an AAA member in order to apply. Tip - you need your login to complete this portion so make sure your membership is current for 2026. Competition Awards The oral and poster competition awards will continue as usual. Applicants must:Be a Student or Postdoc member of AAA (Join now!)Pay 2026 dues in full by December 15Be the first author on the abstractAttend Anatomy Connected to present your research.Presenting authors may only designate one abstract for award consideration. If more than one abstract is put forward for the competition, only the first submission will be considered.Applicants have the opportunity to compete for a platform or poster award within their academic level, in addition to receiving a Travel Award. Abstracts are pre-judged to determine finalists in each category.Only applications with confirmed abstracts will be considered.Awards are non-transferable and no substitution of first author/presenter is allowed.Recipients and competition finalists will be notified about eight weeks after the abstract deadline.Judges may withhold specific awards at their discretion.Competition Awards are presented at the Closing Awards Ceremony at the meeting.
