About MEIEA The Music and Entertainment Industry Educators Association (MEIEA®) is an international organization formed in 1979 to bring together educators with leaders of the music and entertainment industries. The primary goal of MEIEA is to facilitate an exchange of information between educators and practitioners in order to prepare students for careers in the music and entertainment industries. In order to seek professional practical knowledge and functional strategies in education, MEIEA® endeavors to: Provide resources for the exchange of information and knowledge about all aspects of the music and entertainment industries;Foster scholarly research on the music and entertainment industries as well as on music and entertainment industries education;Assist institutions with the development of music and entertainment industries programs and curricula;Facilitate interaction between the music and entertainment industries and music and entertainment industries' educators and affiliated educational institutions;Promote student interests in the music and entertainment industries. Student Enrichment Grants MEIEA is proud to offer student enrichment grants to provide financial support for select and notable student activities intended to advance student education in the music and entertainment industries. Grants may be used to support a variety of activities that include, but are not limited to, workshops, guest speaker support, networking mixers, community service projects, and mentoring programs. Level I Award Institutional Member. Up to $1,000 is available to institutions that hold Institutional membership in MEIEA. Institutional membership is for accredited educational institutions that seek to support the mission of MEIEA.Eligibility

Applications may not be submitted by a student. If the applicant has received a MEIEA Student Enrichment Grant at any time in the past and has not submitted documentation of the supported activity then they are ineligible for another grant until the previous grant is properly documented.Grant funds may not be used for:Honorariums for guest speakersPaying any of the applicant’s salary or stipendPaying other faculty a salary or stipendPurchase of items that hold value beyond the life of the project (for example, equipment or electronics, subscriptions of more than one year or software)Projects beyond the expertise or capabilities of the faculty and studentsNo more than 10% of the grant may be spent on advertising or promotionFocus Areas & Funding Uses
