Geographic Scope: Metropolitan New Orleans area with emphasis on New Orleans East, Gentilly, and St. Bernard

Mission Focus: MHSF supports programs and services for citizens of the metropolitan New Orleans area

Programmatic Goals

MHSF funds programs aligned with the following goals:

• Goal One: Improve the physical, emotional and mental health status of the community, including access to healthcare, promotion of healthy lifestyles and disease prevention
• Goal Two: Assist programs and collaborative partnerships that address the root causes of social and economic factors that contribute to the social determinants of health (including family and social support, education, employment, community safety)
• Goal Three: Provide grant funding of operations with specific goals, objectives and outcomes
• Goal Four: Provide technical assistance to nonprofits to build capacity, strengthen leadership, increase effectiveness and achieve sustainability

Eligibility

• Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations
• Must serve MHSF's mission and strategic programmatic goals
• Healthcare programs/projects

Application Process

MHSF does not accept unsolicited general applications. Organizations must engage in discussions with MHSF directly about potential funding opportunities.
