Overview

NOTE: Letter of Intent - We accept Letters of Intent forms on a quarterly basis. Letters of Intent should outline the project, its partners, a brief statement of need, indicators and outcomes for success, evaluation methods and how funds will be used. Based on Letters of Intent, we will invite the most compelling applicants to complete a formal application. Louisiana Blue Foundation The mission of the Louisiana Blue Foundation is to promote the wellness and wellbeing of Louisianians by supporting health-related causes. Through our strategic philanthropic work, we empower people, organizations, and communities across the state to create meaningful and lasting change. Our grantee partners share our dedication to making a measurable impact on the health and lives of Louisiana’s people. Community Health Improvement Grant Program Community Health Improvement grants are made to community coalitions working together to address major public health concerns. This grant program requires a minimum one-to-one match (may come from multiple sources; up to one-half may be in-kind).

Eligibility

Louisiana Blue and the Foundation only support nonprofit organizations for health- or education-related programs. Nonprofits must either have an IRS 501(c)(3) designation as defined in IRC 509(a)(1) and (2), or a private operating foundation as defined in IRC 4940(d)(2).All organizations must be up-to-date on their filings with the Louisiana Secretary of State.

Ineligibility

We do not make grants or sponsorships in support of any of the following: Business/Advertising sponsorshipsSupport efforts to promote and enhance BCBSLA brandsProviders on contract with BCBSLA for reimbursable services*Programs or events outside of Louisiana, except in the rare case where these have a specific benefit for Louisiana which must be clearly articulatedIndividualsReligious or sectarian programs for religious purposesFraternal, labor, athletic, band, or similar organizations unless these organizations are doing work that otherwise qualifies for a grant and the organization is the most appropriate leader/fiduciaryPolitical contributionsAny purpose other than those outlined within this policy, which are authorized by IRC 170(c)(2)(B)
