Stone County Community Fund

Stone County nonprofits and charitable organizations can apply for grants up to $2,500 to support impactful projects in the community. Funding is available for initiatives in education, child welfare, health, economic development, community service, and more. The Stone County Community Fund is an affiliate of Gulf Coast Community Foundation.

Our grant aims to support organizations aligned with our mission, prioritizing initiatives that address critical needs and contribute positively to the well-being of Stone County residents. We seek proposals that demonstrate a clear and measurable impact, with alignment to the following major funding categories:

* Community Service: Projects that enhance the quality of life and cultural environment in our local area.
* Child Welfare: Initiatives focused on improving the well-being and safety of children, providing essential support to address vulnerabilities.
* Education and Youth: Programs aimed at addressing social challenges faced by youth, promoting educational efforts, and encouraging physical fitness, particularly in the lower six counties.
* Health and Wellness: Efforts dedicated to enhancing community health, preventing illness, and supporting individuals facing health challenges.
* Economic Development and Workforce Training: Support for programs that enhance job skills, promote entrepreneurship, and stimulate local economic growth.
* Food Security and Nutrition: Initiatives that address hunger and improve access to nutritious food for underserved populations.
* Environmental Conservation: Projects focused on preserving natural resources, promoting sustainability, and enhancing community green spaces.
* Arts, Culture, and Heritage: Support for programs that celebrate local arts, culture, and historical preservation to foster community pride.
* Mental Health and Substance Abuse Prevention: Programs providing mental health resources, substance abuse prevention, and recovery support services.
* Senior and Elderly Services: Initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for seniors through social engagement, transportation, and wellness support.
* Technology and Digital Inclusion: Efforts to improve access to technology and digital literacy for underserved populations.
* Transportation Services: Programs that ensure residents have reliable transportation for essential services and opportunities.

Ineligibility

* There are specific areas and activities that our funding does not cover.

* These restrictions are in place to ensure that our resources are directed towards the most impactful and aligned initiatives.

* The following are not eligible for funding:
* Lobbying or political campaigns.
* Fund-raising events, including dinners, raffles, and other similar activities.
* Support for individuals or personal expenses.
* Capital fund campaigns and national fund drives.
* Advertising and marketing expenses.
* Internal payroll expenses and operating costs of the organization.
* Scholarship or grants intended for re-disbursement.
* Activities considered controversial or divisive.
* Administrative costs, such as office supplies, utility expenses, travel, and salaries for administrative staff.
* Capacity building initiatives and brick-and-mortar projects, including construction and maintenance.
