The Steven Weinberg Research Award, presented by the Texas Section of the American Physical Society, recognizes outstanding research in physics by graduate students. The award includes a plaque and $1000, emphasizing excellence and potential impact in the scientific community. Nominations can be made by advisors or qualified nominators, and the recipient is typically required to attend the award presentation at the Fall meeting.Overview
The American Physical Society (APS) is a nonprofit membership organization working to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics through its outstanding research journals, scientific meetings, and education, outreach, advocacy, and international activities. APS represents more than 50,000 members, including physicists in academia, national laboratories, and industry in the United States and throughout the world. The Steven Weinberg Research Award, of the Texas Section of the American Physical Society (TSAPS), will be presented each year to a recipient who must have been a graduate student when the research was performed. The only criterion is excellence, including potential impact in the relevant scientific community. The recipient will receive a plaque and $1000. The award will be presented at the Fall meeting.Eligibility
