About The Community Foundation of NCW is a tax-exempt philanthropic organization that helps individuals, families, businesses, and agencies support charitable causes throughout Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties. Our Mission To grow, protect, and connect charitable gifts in support of strong communities. Stella Knoebel and Mary Jean Carter Scholarship Stella Knoebel, a piano teacher in Wenatchee, encouraged and mentored Mary Jean Carter in eventually developing her own piano teaching studio when she moved to Wenatchee. Mary Jean loved to share her knowledge with developing piano and organ students. This scholarship was established to financially assist serious piano and/or organ students in obtaining a college degree, preferably in music education. Mary Jean hoped that this scholarship would enable future students to become music teachers. Establishing the scholarship was her way of continuing to share the joy of music.Eligibility
