Steel Dynamics Foundation Grant

The Steel Dynamics Foundation Grant focuses on enhancing community quality of life and local economies by supporting 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Priorities include higher education, economic development, and human services, particularly in communities where Steel Dynamics operates. Grants are awarded based on community impact, employee involvement, and organizational integrity. Applicants must demonstrate a strong ethical track record and effective community engagement to qualify for funding opportunities.

NOTE: The applicant needs to take the eligibility requirements questionnaire in order to request a grant application.

We consider applications for nonprofit organizations that have significant impact in our communities, serve a large population, meet the greatest needs and have the widest access.
Management at your local facility will review your request and make a decision based on level of support by facility and employees. If local SDI facility has not been involved with your organization management may consider, at their discretion, to forward your request to the Foundation, to hold for consideration of a donation from their facility, or to decline the request.

Human ServicesWho Can Apply:Only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply for funding.Support will first be considered in communities where Steel Dynamics, Inc. has a facility.Steel Dynamics, Inc. affiliated companies include: Steel Dynamics, OmniSource, New Millennium Building Systems, Steel of West Virginia and Vulcan Steel Products.Organizations referred by the local facility.The Steel Dynamics Foundation supports organizations with a proven track record of strong ethical business practices, including appropriate non-discrimination policies.

Ineligibility

Funds may not be used for any of the following purposes:To individuals
To a religious organization for a sectarian purpose
To fund project, program, operating or capital campaign deficits
For programs/projects normally supported by taxpayers
For sponsorships, camperships (including camp-related programs or programming), special events, advertising or group trips
