State Agency Traffic Safety Grant (MA)

The State Agency Traffic Safety Grant in Massachusetts provides up to $6.5 million in funding for state government agencies to enhance road safety. This grant, administered by the Office of Grants and Research, focuses on critical areas such as impaired driving, child passenger safety, and distracted driving. By targeting these priority areas, the program aims to significantly reduce traffic crashes and improve overall safety on Massachusetts roadways.

The Office of Grants and Research (OGR) is pleased to make up to $6.5 million in FFY 2024 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) grant funding available to Massachusetts state government agencies. OGR is the State Administering Agency (SAA) for NHTSA’s traffic safety grants to reduce roadway crashes, injuries, fatalities, and associated economic losses in Massachusetts.
This grant program makes funding available to Massachusetts state agencies to address certain traffic safety priority areas with the goal of reducing traffic crashes.
Applications must focus on addressing one or more of the following road safety priority areas:
