The Commonwealth Nonprofit Security Personnel Grant Program offers one-time funding for eligible 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations in Massachusetts at high risk of terrorist attacks or hate crimes. Applicants are required to provide matching funds equal to the grant amount. Priority is given to those demonstrating significant need and proposing effective security personnel solutions, particularly first-time applicants. This program fosters safer environments for vulnerable communities through strategic financial support.

Overview

The Office of Grants and Research will make one-time grant funds available through a competitive process to eligible 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, such as faith-based, educational, medical/health care service providers, human services, and other organizations that have demonstrated that they are at high risk for terrorist attacks or hate crimes.  Recipients of this funding must contribute matching funds to the project equal to $1 for every $1 contributed by the Commonwealth. Priority will be given to applicants demonstrating the greatest need and proposing cost-effective solutions to hiring security personnel, and to those who have not previously received funding from OGR.
