Grants and Awards The Biochemical Society offers a large portfolio of Grants and Awards designed to help support and recognise the entire molecular biosciences community. Each year, the Biochemical Society supports individuals, organisations, and groups from across the world through our varied grants and bursaries scheme. With funding available for events, PhDs, projects, career development and more, there is funding support available for all career stages. Events Sponsorship Sponsored Event Grants provide sponsorship of up to £500 to assist with the independent organisation of single lectures or small events such as postgraduate research days. Our Sponsored Event grants are available to support both face-to-face and virtual meetings. We’ve previously funded travel bursaries for students and ECRs to attend, travel and accommodation for keynote speakers, consumables and worksheets, and more! We particularly welcome applications for events that are cross-institutional and regional, and student-focused. All funding sought should be used to support the science and cannot be used to cover catering or venue costs.

Eligibility

Applicants must be a current Postgraduate, Early Career, Full, or Emeritus member of the Biochemical Society. Single Lectures and Small Events: Your event should take place at least one month after the deadline. Applicants can only apply for one Sponsored Event Grant per calendar year. You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. Applicants must be a member of the Biochemical Society.

Ineligibility

Note that this fund does NOT support events for school students, which are covered under Scientific Outreach Grants.Please note funding cannot be used to cover catering or venue costs; it must be used to support the science.
