Spokane City Credit Union Charitable Giving Program

Overview: SCCU commits to giving one percent (1%) of their annual profits to charitable organizations and causes that benefit the Spokane community.

Geographic Scope: Spokane County, Washington

Focus Areas:

  • Northwest Autism Center

  • Children's Miracle Network

  • Spokane Parks Foundation & natural resource conservation groups

  • Priority given to organizations making positive impact in these areas
  • Eligible Organizations

    Must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Tax Status: Public charity with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, Washington Nonprofit Corporation, or federally recognized tribe

  • Registration: Registered with Washington's Secretary of State as a charitable organization (if required)

  • Impact: Demonstrate impact aligned with SCCU's focused giving areas

  • Geographic Benefit: Benefit communities and people in Spokane County

  • Note: Under certain circumstances, applications from public entities (school districts, municipalities) or unincorporated groups may be considered
    • Ineligible Organizations

    • Political or partisan organizations or affiliations
    • Religious or religiously affiliated organizations
    • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, creed, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, familial status or any other protected class

    Submission Method: Written request by mail

    Required Materials:
    1. Letter of request on the organization's letterhead
    2. Brief description of the organization including mission and programs
    3. Specific purpose for which funds are being requested, including description of the population being served
    4. Dollar amount being requested (up to $500)
    5. List of the organization's current leadership including board members
    6. Copy of the organization's tax-exempt status or nonprofit designation as a government or tribal entity, including Tax Identification Number (TIN)
    7. Completed W-9 IRS form
