Spiritual Care Advancement Grant
Funder: Butterfield Memorial Foundation

The Foundation believes people are tripartite beings composed of a spirit, a soul, and a body, and is a strong proponent of whole person healthcare.
Funding Purpose
BMF seeks to collaborate with nonprofit Christian healthcare organizations to advance spiritual care as a core component of whole person care.- Create training opportunities to advance understanding and knowledge of spiritual care
- Improve the physical, mental, and social well-being of individuals
Eligible Projects
Projects funded should:Examples of fundable projects include:
- Organization Type: U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity (within the United States). Non-U.S. grantees must work with a U.S. 501(c)(3) to act as a fiscal agent.
- Healthcare Focus: Organization must be a Christian healthcare organization
- Christian Purpose: All organizations must have a Christian purpose stated in their founding documents (bylaws, mission statement, and/or vision statement)
- No Individual Grants: Butterfield Foundation does not award grants to individuals
Eligibility Requirements
- Operational expenses (including salaries)
- Ongoing program expenses
- Endowments
- Scholarships
- Sponsorships
Funding Restrictions
The Foundation does not fund:- 12 months has passed since the approval of the previous funding
- All awarded funds have been expended
- All reporting requirements have been completed
Reapplication Policy
Organizations that have previously received funding may submit a new Letter of Inquiry after:Multi-Year Funding
Butterfield Foundation will consider funding multi-year projects on a case-by-case basis but, in general, this is not the Foundation's primary form of funding.Contact Information

Application Process
Step 1: Check Eligibility
Visit the eligibility section and verify your organization's eligibility for Butterfield Foundation grant.
Step 2: Setup a Grant Account
The grant application process is managed entirely through your own account on the Butterfield Foundation Grant Portal. You will need to create an account to proceed.
Step 3: Submit Letter of Inquiry
Using your newly established Butterfield Foundation portal account, submit a new Letter of Inquiry to get the process started.
Step 4: Full Application
If your Letter of Inquiry is selected to move forward, you will be invited to submit a complete grant application through the portal.
- Grants can be requested through the online application process only
- All applications must be submitted via the Butterfield Foundation Grant Portal
- Organizations must have evidence of active Christian presence
- Projects must align with one of the four Funding Focus Areas
