Special Education - EI Clearinghouse (25-444-84-2900-01) Program SummaryIntroduction to the funding opportunity:The Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Early Childhood, seeks an organization with which to contract for the establishment and maintenance of an Early Intervention Clearinghouse (EIC).Description of the purpose and scope:The EIC will serve as a comprehensive resource for parents/caregivers, the general public, and early intervention (EI) professionals, providing access to information and resources related to EI issues, including , but not limited to, culturally inclusive and responsive materials. The EIC will provide current, up to date information and reference materials to parents/caregivers for understanding normal development and specific disabilities. It will also support educators and EI professionals in maintaining and improving competencies in evaluation and treatment of children with developmental disabilities and delays. The EIC will facilitate communication between the EI program and families through newsletters, a website, social media, and reference and lending library services. The EIC will maintain a federally required central directory.
