    Project Description: Implement sound walls in classrooms with mirrors to support explicit phoneme instruction. Sound walls teach the smallest unit of sound and the daily routine includes exploring mouth formation. Mirrors allow students to:

  • See their own mouths up close

  • Observe lip, teeth, and tongue positioning

  • Learn how sounds are made

  • Support early literacy attainment
  • This practice helps grow students' knowledge of letters, sounds, and words through teaching essential decoding and encoding skills. Implementation follows Reading Academy culmination and evidence-based practices.
