SOT Science Policy Leadership Award Grant

The SOT Science Policy Leadership Award honors elected officials who advocate for scientific research that protects health and the environment. By recognizing individuals who support public policy that advances safety for people and animals, this award promotes the importance of science in decision-making processes. The Society of Toxicology aims to highlight the contributions of leaders in science policy, encouraging further advancements in health and safety research while fostering a collaborative relationship between science and government.

Each year, the Society recognizes scientists who are making a positive impact on the field of toxicology through the SOT Awards program.SOT Awards are distributed by a variety of groups within and connected to SOT and often consist of a stipend or financial support for research.
To provide recognition of an elected government official (local, state, national, international) who demonstrates support for science related to protecting or advancing the health and safety of people, animals, and/or the environment.

Eligibility

An elected official who meets one or more of the following:has recognized and supports scientific research that increases knowledge and advances protection of people, animals, and/or environmental healthhas pursued public policy or decision-making relating to health and safetyA nomination letter from an SOT member describing how the nominee has supported scientific research or policy addressing the protection of human, animal, and/or environmental health.
