Focus Area: Technical assistance for nonprofits and houses of worship exploring solar energy projects

Award Information:

• Solar site assessment: Up to $250
• Engineering review: Up to $500
• Small grants to fund professional services to get solar projects started

Eligibility Requirements:

• Registered nonprofit organization located in Wisconsin
• In good financial standing
• Organization new to solar or exploring solar for the first time
• Houses of worship eligible

What They Fund:

• Professional solar site assessments
• Engineering services and reviews
• Professional solar consultation to evaluate project feasibility

Award Basis:

• First-come, first-served basis
• Separate from installation grant applications
• Reviewed independently

How to Apply

1. Visit the Solar for Good website at https://www.renewwisconsin.org/solarforgood/
2. Submit separate application from installation grant applications
3. Application Timing:
   • Accepted during same funding cycles as installation grants
   • Spring 2018 round: Deadline April 9, 2018
   • Fall 2018 round: Deadline November 13, 2018 at 5:00 PM
   • Applications reviewed on first-come, first-served basis
4. Award Decisions:
   • Announced within 2-3 weeks of deadline
5. Process:
   • Identify professional solar contractor for site assessment or engineering review
   • Submit application for grant funding
   • Grant pays for professional services directly
   • Funds get project planning started and help see projects through to success
