Overview
Types of research or purpose: The purpose of the SAU DEI Pilot Grant is to fund projects that promote diversity, inclusion, and health equity within the field of academic urology. Grants may focus on innovative approaches to: recruitment of diverse trainees at the medical student, resident, or fellowship level; promotion of innovative mentorship strategies to foster the success of diverse applicants; recruitment of diverse urology residency graduates into academics; and retention and promotion of urologists from diverse backgrounds within academic institutions and institutional leadership.
Budget requests should be for amounts up to $10,000. Funds will not cover any indirect or overhead costs. Partial funding may be awarded. Payments to the successful grant will be split between two installments pending demonstration of successful progress of research. The grantee is to submit a headshot/passport photo of the principal investigator(s), a progress report of work accomplished during the current and future funding period(s), including goals and objectives achieved, list of abstracts, publications, and educational products generated from the research, and plans for the next funding period (for multi- year grants).

* Projects without prior internal or external peer-review
* Pilot or development and feasibility proposals
* Interdisciplinary proposals
* Applicants must be faculty at a member institution in good standing.
* Investigators from under-represented groups in urology, including Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) and LGBTQIA+ communities
