Snider Family Scholarship

Status: Active, awarded each semester

Geographic Scope: West Georgia Technical College campuses (Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, and Troup counties; class sites in Heard and Meriwether counties)

Focus Areas: Certificate, diploma, or degree programs in:

  • Business and Healthcare Management

  • Nursing

  • Health Services

  • Manufacturing and Production

  • Professional Services

  • Installation, Maintenance, and Repair

  • Architecture and Engineering

  • Systems Information Management
  • Award Details:

  • Covers 2/3 of student's tuition and fees

  • Student responsible for remaining 1/3

  • Awarded to 1-2 students each academic year

  • Continues each semester until program completion if student maintains good academic standing
  • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Enrolled at WGTC pursuing certificate, diploma, or degree in eligible program areas

  • GPA: 2.0 – 3.0

  • Incoming students must provide transcript or proof of GED

  • Cannot be receiving Pell Grant or Hope Grant

  • Must demonstrate financial need

  • Must maintain good academic standing to continue receiving scholarship for multiple semesters

    Background: Designed to provide opportunities to students who may not have other options for financing higher education. Founder committed to mentoring scholarship recipients to whatever extent they want involvement and ensuring scholarship follows them to completion of their initial program.
