About Us The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is the state's principal economic development agency. DEED programs promote business recruitment, expansion, and retention; international trade; workforce development; and community development. Small Business Assistance Partnerships Program Through its Office of Small Business and Innovation, DEED is seeking proposals from individual organizations, regional coalitions, and state-wide entrepreneurial support services providers to provide no-cost small business development and technical assistance services to entrepreneurs and small business owners, with a particular focus on underserved populations and geographies including individuals who are Black, Indigenous, people of color, veterans, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ individuals, low-income individuals, and includes people from rural Minnesota. The delivery of these services will support the start-up, growth, and success of Minnesota's entrepreneurs and small business owners and facilitate an economic environment that produces job growth and supports the economic success of Minnesota individuals, businesses, and communities.
