Skillbuilders Fund Grant

The SkillBuilders Fund Grant supports organizations dedicated to empowering women and girls in the Kansas City area. With funding typically ranging from $20,000 to $50,000, the foundation prioritizes innovative programs that enhance self-sufficiency and leadership skills. Eligible applicants include public charities with 501(c)(3) status. The grant aims to foster educational opportunities and entrepreneurial skills, helping women and girls overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.

NOTE: The 2025 grant funding cycle will open on Monday, June 2nd. Please fill out the Letter of Intent to be considered. Letter of Intent will close on Monday, June 30th at 5:00pm.
Funding Priorities
SkillBuilders Fund funds projects that exclusively serve women and girls in the Kansas City region. Proposals from new as well as traditional organizations will be considered.
Funding
Grants will typically range from $20,000 – $50,000 and may on rare occasion exceed $50,000. Multi-year grants will not be considered.

Eligibility

Only public charities that have received 501(c)(3) not-for-profit tax exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service are eligible.The geographic focus of our charitable giving is the Greater Kansas City area.

Ineligibility

Multi-year grants will not be considered. Individuals, businesses and other for-profit organizations do not qualify.The Fund does not award grants for the following:

• Annual Giving Campaigns
• Capital Campaigns
• Debt Reduction
• Endowments
• Fundraising Events and Sponsorships
• Political activities
• Religious purposes or programs that require religious participation
