Shelley Glover Award

Age Group: U16-21

Geographic Scope: Vermont

Purpose: The Vermont Alpine Racing Association created and supports the Shelley Glover Scholarship to honor a young individual who exemplifies the qualities Shelley was best known for. Shelley attended Burke Mountain Academy and became an admired member of the ski racing community.

Selection Criteria:

• Shows compassion for those around who are in need
• Reaches out to and enjoys working with younger individuals
• Displays dedication and commitment to academics
• Inspires fellow athletes to reach their potential, raise their expectations, and exceed their limitations
• Skis with passion, power, and determination
• Demonstrates tenacity, perseverance, and drive through training
• Enjoys the journey that leads one to success

Eligibility:

• Current VARA member athletes
• Must have been a member of VARA for at least two seasons
• Age group U16 through U21

How to Nominate:

• Nominations completed by coach or program director on Google Form

   • Must demonstrate character qualities aligned with Shelley Glover's legacy: compassion, mentorship of younger athletes, academic dedication, ability to inspire others, skiing passion, and perseverance
