Mission An active member of the San Antonio Junior League, Shelby Rae Tengg was very engaged in her community. Her wealth came from years of prudent investment. Her husband worked at Alamo Iron Works and owned a number of rent houses. They lived in a modest home in the Highlands area on the Southside of San Antonio. Several of Mrs. Tengg’s relatives died of both cancer and heart disease.
