The Myocarditis Foundation offers research grants aimed at advancing the understanding and treatment of myocarditis, a rare but serious disease. These grants provide $40,000 in seed funding for promising physician-scientists within ten years of their MD or PhD. Recipients are expected to conduct research in the U.S. or Canada, culminating in a final report. The goal is to support innovative research that can lead to significant breakthroughs and ultimately, a cure for myocarditis.Overview
Myocarditis, Heart Failure and Sudden Death Research Grant Program Myocarditis is a rare disease, and many medical professionals lack the resources needed to care for affected patients. That’s why the Myocarditis Foundation is proud to sponsor myocarditis research grants dedicated to diagnosis, treatment and an eventual cure. If you’re interested in conducting research related to myocarditis, our grants could help you take the next step on the journey to eradicating this disease. Myocarditis Foundation Research Grants One of the most critical aspects of myocarditis research is encouraging promising physician-scientists to devote their talents to this important work. To do so, the Myocarditis Foundation Research Grant supports the training and career development of those who are dedicated to the study of myocarditis. Research Grants are intended to offer seed funding to support the early stages of long-term research, from the investigation of an initial hypothesis to the collection of preliminary data. Grant recipients will receive a $40,000 stipend payable over the course of one year. This amount does not include additional funding for benefits, travel and/or other costs associated with research. At the end of the grant period, recipients should be well-prepared to seek long-term funding from the National Institute of Health (NIH) or other major granting institution. Grants are awarded through a peer review process conducted by our Medical Advisory Board on the basis of scientific excellence and relevance to myocarditis research overall.Eligibility
