Overview

The first federal funding stream solely dedicated to direct intervention and related assistance for victims of sexual assault. SASP directs grant dollars to states and territories to support rape crisis centers and other nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations or tribal programs providing services to sexual assault victims.

Eligible Services:

  • Intervention and advocacy

  • Accompaniment and support services

  • Related assistance for adult, youth, and child victims of sexual assault

  • Support for family and household members of victims

  • Support for those collaterally affected by sexual assault
  • Purpose: To supplement other funding sources directed at addressing sexual assault on the state and territorial level. Funds are designed to expand direct victim services capacity.
