Senior Solutions Dementia Respite Grant

Senior Solutions (Council on Aging for Southeastern Vermont) runs a Dementia Respite Grant, applied for by the primary unpaid caregiver of a person with dementia. The application asks whether the care recipient has a physician's diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease and, if not, whether there is a physician's diagnosis of another progressive, irreversible dementia. Stated reasons for needing respite include relief from caregiving, agency services for a higher level of in-home care, financial assistance for supplemental services (home modifications, assistive technologies, emergency response systems, incontinence supplies), paying for regularly scheduled care so the caregiver can keep working, adult day services, and self-directed care.
