Application Process

Deadline: May 1st (annually)

Notification: Recipients will be notified by June 15th

Required Materials

1. Completed Online Application Form - Submit via online form at www.shaponline.org
- Personal information (name, date of birth, contact details, address)
- Parent/Guardian information
- Educational information (high school/college, program type, GPA, anticipated graduation)
- Career information (major, area of interest, anticipated career)

2. Academic Transcript
- Most recent academic transcript (copy)

3. Two Letters of Reference
- From someone outside of immediate family

4. Essay (approximately 500 words)
- Topic: Describe your previous experiences with the fruit industry (if any) and your vision for the role you hope to play in the Pennsylvania fruit industry upon graduation
- Format: Typed

Supplementary Questions in Application

1. List your high school or on-campus activities, involvement in student organizations, any leadership positions and years of participation
2. List your participation in any civic or public service activities (on or off-campus)
3. List any work experience you've had in or related to the fruit industry
4. List any scholarships or awards you have received (including honor roll)

Application Notes

• Complete the application as thoroughly as possible
• The Scholarship Committee may request in-person interviews or contact your college/high school advisor
• Applications submitted via online form only
