Schultz Engagement and Leadership Fellowship

Overview: A fellowship combining efforts to engage first-year and upper-class students through peer-to-peer engagement and leadership development.

Details:

  • Structure: Weekly cohort meetings with student chair; weekly one-on-one meetings with students

  • Role: Serve as ambassadors for Hillel using peer-to-peer engagement strategies

  • Benefits: Professional development opportunities and Jewish growth

  • Student Chair Option: Leadership role with increased stipend for greater responsibilities
  • Chair Responsibilities:

  • Weekly meetings with staff in addition to fellowship meetings

  • Leadership within the fellowship cohort

  • Programming coordination (class chairs, holidays, Shabbat, etc.)
  • Eligibility: UC Berkeley first-year and upper-class students

    Application Process

    1. Complete the Spring Fellowship Application form
    2. Select "Schultz Engagement Fellowship" option
    3. Answer required questions about Hillel's virtual programming
    4. Indicate interest in Student Chair role (if applicable)
    5. Select available weekly meeting times
    6. Submit application

  • Where could Hillel improve?

  • Are you interested in being a Student Chair? (Yes/No)

  • If chairing, what programming areas interest you?
  • Available Meeting Times:

  • Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00 PM

  • Wednesdays, 7:00-8:00 PM

  • Other times available upon request
