Community Foundation Scholarships

Geographic Scope: Primary service area includes Berlin, New Britain, Plainville, and Southington. Select scholarships available to students in Farmington, Newington, and Wethersfield. Additional scholarships available to local students already enrolled in higher education programs.

Eligibility:

  • Overview: The Community Foundation manages more than 48 named scholarship funds established by individual donors. In 2016, 74 scholarships totaling $198,100 were awarded to students from 47 separate donor-established funds. In 2017, more than $200,000 in scholarships were available. Scholarships support students attending a wide variety of colleges and universities including Yale University, UConn, Central Connecticut State University, Eastern Connecticut State University, Southern Connecticut State University, University of Bridgeport, Fairfield University, Post University, University of St. Joseph, Tunxis Community College, Boston College, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, and others.
