Alma Exley Scholarship Grant

The Alma Exley Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, supports junior, senior, or master’s-level students of color enrolled in Connecticut's accredited teacher-preparation programs. Open from early September to late October, this scholarship promotes diversity and inclusion in education by empowering future educators. By investing in students who are committed to making a positive impact in their communities, the award fosters a more equitable teaching profession. Applications are accepted annually.

This scholarship, open annually from early September to late October, supports junior, senior, or master’s-level students enrolled in an accredited teacher-preparation program in Connecticut. Eligible applicants must identify as students of color who are committed to pursuing careers in education. The award aims to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the teaching profession by empowering future educators who will positively impact classrooms and communities across Connecticut.
