• Number of Scholarships: 3 scholarships per year

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a child, grandchild, or spouse/domestic partner of a current Sonoma County employee or retiree
• Employee or retiree must be a member of the Sonoma County Employees' Retirement Association (SCERA)
• Must be a full-time student
• Minimum 2.5 GPA
• High school seniors are eligible
• Non-repeating scholarship (cannot receive more than once at this institution)
• However, students may receive a SCARE scholarship at SRJC and then receive one if transferring to SSU

Program History: SCARE began offering scholarships to SRJC students in 1997 with a $500 scholarship. The amount was increased to $1,000 in 2006 and to $1,500 in 2020, with the number of scholarships increased from 2 to 3 in January 2020.
