Sandy Springs Arts Foundation Grant Program

Funder: Sandy Springs Arts Foundation Inc (SSAF), Sandy Springs, GA

Mission: To elevate all Sandy Springs residents through the arts.

Funding Purposes

SSAF considers grant requests for:

  • Enhancing the Arts Experience for Public School Children in Sandy Springs – SSAF collaborates directly with public schools in Sandy Springs to fund and enhance arts experience and programming for students
  • Assisting Sandy Springs' Arts Nonprofit Organizations – SSAF assists other Sandy Springs nonprofits requesting funding for arts programming execution, supporting the premise that art enhances inclusion, the economy, health, and/or sense of community

Geographic Scope

Required: The delivery of arts education and/or arts/culture programming must take place in whole or in part in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible Applicants:

  • Organizations classified as 501(c)(3) tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3)

  • Faith-based nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status

  • Public and private elementary, middle, and high schools

  • Programs that use art in educational and/or healthcare settings
  • Prioritization:

  • Smaller organizations without internal/external fundraising capabilities

  • Organizations seeking to elevate, enhance, and/or improve access to the arts for all residents, including those facing physical, emotional, and/or financial challenges

  • Organizations that propose to match requested funds with funds from other sources (match NOT required but prioritized)
  • Not Eligible:

  • Individuals

  • For-profit organizations

  • Houses of worship (faith-based community organizations with 501(c)(3) status ARE eligible)
  • What SSAF Will NOT Fund

    • Annual operating funds
    • Buildings
    • Land acquisition
    • Endowments
    • Debt reduction

    Application Timeline

    Grant Application Period: September 1 to October 1, 2026

    Reporting Requirements

    • Grant recipients must submit an end of program or event report
    • For multi-year programs: mid-year progress report and year-end report including expenditures of grant funds

    Grant Application Process

    Step 1: Request the Application

  • Step 2: Complete the Grant Request Application

    The application requires answers to the following questions:

    #### Program Planning & Design

  • What are the program's educational objectives?

  • How does the program meet current GA Curriculum Standards?

  • What is the expected outcome/benefit for those who participate in the program?

  • Who is the target program participant? (age, income level, demographic data)

  • How long has the program existed?

  • Why was it created?

  • What community need does it meet?
  • #### Organizational Information

  • Provide the organization's strategic plan

  • Provide the organization's fiscal annual budget

  • Staff credentials – Who will staff the program and what are their credentials?
  • #### Budget & Funding Details

  • Provide a detailed line item budget of the program being funded

  • How exactly will funds be used?

  • When will funds be used?

  • Explain why funding is needed and how the program will impact the community at large

  • What will happen to the program if the requested funding is NOT received?

  • What other funding sources, sponsors, and organizational partners are part of this program?
  • #### Evaluation & Recognition

  • What metrics will gauge the program success?

  • How often and when in the grant cycle will those metrics be assessed?

  • How will your organization publicly recognize the Foundation's investments in your program? (social media, marketing, and promotional materials)
  • Step 3: Submit Application

  • Submit during the designated application period: September 1 to October 1
  • Step 4: Award Notification & Reporting

  • Grant distributions are based on eligibility, merit, alignment with SSAF's mission, criteria, goals, and availability of funds

  • Upon award, recipient must comply with reporting requirements (end of program report; mid-year and year-end reports for multi-year programs)
