Background Dr. Doris Grosskreutz began her career in a general practice as a physician early in the 1940’s. She later specialized as an Anesthesiologist, and was one of the very few women who practiced in this field at the time. In addition to practicing medicine, she went on to educate others as a professor of Anesthesiology. Dr. Grosskreutz was passionate about innovation to provide the best health care possible. She was a devout woman of faith and a lifetime member of the Catholic Church who cared deeply for those around her. She was a person who encouraged others to succeed and grow in health, education and faith. Dr. Grosskreutz was affectionately known by her friends as “Susie”. A gift from “Susie’s” estate was given in honor of this very special woman for the creation of the Saint Susie Charitable Foundation. The foundation focuses on the key passions of “Susie”: health, education and faith. The mission of the Saint Susie Charitable Foundation is to “Foster collaboration and provide support within communities in health, education and faith”. The foundation’s vision is “To see communities transformed”. The value of collaboration led the foundation to very strategic partnerships with various organizations working well with one another.
