The Creative Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization of leaders in the field of creativity theory and practice. Every day, principles fostered by CEF programs are helping someone, somewhere in the world, develop new products, make business operations run more profitably, restructure organizations and agencies to become more effective and less encumbered, reinvigorate economies, make improvements in our schools, revitalize communities, and replace ineffective methods and systems with new, more workable ones. We convene businesses, governments, NGOs, and individuals to improve global health and wellness, increase opportunity for women and girls, reduce childhood obesity, create economic opportunity and growth, and help communities address the effects of climate change. Ruth B. Noller Research Grant The Creative Education Foundation is pleased to announce a creativity research grant program, honoring the pioneering work of creativity researcher and educator Ruth B. Noller. The Ruth B. Noller Research Grant fosters and supports emerging, paradigm-shifting research with high potential for impact in the field of creativity, creative education studies, and/or creative thinking by recognizing an individual or team engaged in such research. Noller was widely known for cultivating the scientific understanding for creative thinking. Noller is most famous for developing the creativity formula ƒa (KIE) – the interaction between Knowledge, Imagination, and Evaluation generates Creativity. Noller’s groundbreaking work served as the stimulus for future research in creativity. The successful applicant will receive a $2,000 cash award, a framed citation from CEF, free registration to CPSI 2026 and a travel allowance of $400 to defer costs to attend CPSI 2026.

Eligibility

Candidates must have a minimum of bachelor degree level of academic work, with a demonstrated capacity for conducting research.Candidates must be currently working on, or soon to commence, a research project that aligns with the purpose of this grant.Candidates must be willing and able to disseminate their findings through recognized peer review journals, such as, but not limited to, the Journal of Creative Behavior.Candidates must be willing to present their work to a future Creative Problem Solving Institute (CPSI), either virtually or in person.
