RRGL Private Grants

The Renewable Resource Grant and Loan Program (RRGL) supports the conservation and management of Montana's renewable resources by funding water-related projects for private entities. Grants are available for initiatives that enhance water resource sustainability, provided they meet specific criteria, such as benefiting a water resource and not being funded by a government entity. This program aims to secure economic and social prosperity for Montana's citizens.

The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) offers Private Grants to private entities under the Renewable Resource Grant (RRG) Program. These grants support projects that promote the conservation, development, and beneficial use of Montana’s water resources to secure maximum economic and social prosperity for its citizens.
Grants are available for projects that meet the following criteria:
Promotes the objectives of the Renewable Resource Grant and Loan Program.Provides public benefits.  Must be constructed in Montana.  New home construction is not eligible for the private grant program.  Efficient use of water without diminishing the quality.  You have submitted a complete application before starting your project. The project has not used funds from the Private Grant Program in the last five years.The project will be given priority if it provides for more than one purpose for the facility.
