Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department Memorial Scholarship Grant

The Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department Memorial Scholarship, established by the Connecticut Community Foundation, supports college-bound students from Roxbury, offering a $2000 award. This scholarship prioritizes current or former members of the Roxbury Fire Department and their descendants, promoting educational opportunities for those committed to serving their community. With a legacy dating back to 1923, the Foundation plays a vital role in enhancing the educational landscape in the Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills region.

While serving this 21-town region, the Foundation works to address the community’s critical issues, funds programs benefiting local residents, supports efforts to improve systems to foster more equitable outcomes for residents, strengthens local organizations through learning and outreach, and works with individuals, families and corporations to steward charitable and scholarship funds.

We are one of the largest college scholarship providers in the Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills region, thanks to the generosity of hundreds of donors over many decades who want to help students achieve their dreams of a college education.
For entering or current college students residing in Roxbury, pursuing a post-secondary education at a two or four year junior college, college, technical school, or other institution offering post-graduate study/training; preference is given to current/former members (or junior corps members) of Roxbury Fire Department (or direct descendants).
