Rotary Works Foundation Grant Program

Geographic Scope: Projects of Rotary clubs in the Greater La Crosse area and projects of other organizations in or supporting the communities of the Coulee Region of Western Wisconsin and Southeast Minnesota

Focus Areas:

  • Projects involving children, youth and families (preference given)

  • Projects involving a Rotarian (preference given)

  • Local and international projects supported by Rotary clubs
  • Eligibility:

  • Awarded to 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(1) organizations

  • Must be in anticipation of an event/project, not after the fact

  • Projects must not have already happened at time of application
  • What They Don't Fund:

  • Payment/reimbursement for wages, benefits, stipends, etc.
  • Key Requirements:

  • Multi-year grants are discouraged except for major projects

  • Grant requests evaluated for past performance and use of RWF funds

  • Grantees required to report on outcomes after completion

  • May be asked to present project at RWF and/or Rotary Club meeting/event

    How to Apply

    Grant Application Process

    1. Submit completed application - Preference for electronic submission via email to rotaryworksfoundation@gmail.com, or by mail
    2. Include 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(1) designation - Copy of organization's tax-exempt status documentation
    3. Provide detailed budget - Must include:
    - Scope of entire project
    - Exact items on budget applicable to grant application
    - Number of individuals impacted by project/event
    4. Include funding plan - Plan for approaching other organizations and individuals for additional financial support, plus any prior pledges or donations
    5. Timing verification - Confirm event/project has not already happened
    6. Submit by deadline - Applications must be received 7 days prior to Board meeting
    7. Post-project reporting - Email brief after-project summary/evaluation to RWF
    8. Possible presentation - May be asked to present project at RWF and/or Rotary Club meeting/event
