Overview Beatrice Educational Foundation, a nonprofit corporation, was established in 1987, and one of the first education foundations in the State of Nebraska. The Foundation’s purpose is to provide a permanent source of financial support for the expansion and enrichment of learning opportunities for the Beatrice School District. The Foundation manages a $3.8 million Endowment Fund and awards over $55,000 each year in scholarships to Beatrice High School graduating seniors. Rick Simmons Scholarship One $1,000 scholarship is available to a graduating senior of Beatrice High School, pursuing a career in the Trades at a post-secondary institute in Nebraska. Trades is defined as career opportunities associated with carpentry, electrical, electronics, mechanical, plumbing and similar vocations. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of ability and financial need, preferably, but not necessarily, to students who might otherwise be unable to continue their education. A copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to complete the application process.Eligibility
