Reva and David Logan Foundation Grant

The Reva and David Logan Foundation Grant supports social justice, journalism, and the arts, focusing on innovative projects that demonstrate originality, potential impact, feasibility, and engagement. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations with an operating budget under $500,000 for at least two of the last four years. The foundation encourages proposals that seek to create significant change and expand audience engagement, ensuring that positive outcomes are widely accessible.

The Foundation is a Chicago-based family foundation that provides strategic grants to support social justice, the arts and investigative journalism both in Chicago and around the world.
Dedicated to lasting support for the founders’ powerful and eclectic mix of grants, our directors each contribute their own unique interests to our granting range.
The Reva and David Logan Foundation grants in three main areas: Social Justice, Journalism and the Arts.
We base our grant making decisions on these key qualities:

• Originality
• The proposal encompasses a unique approach, proven or experimental, that is likely to deliver outstanding and reliable results.
• Potential (Impact)

The applicant’s process will significantly change their field or expand the audience to broaden debate while promoting positive outcomes, wide availability and access to all.
Feasibility
The proposal contains clear and reachable goals, a reasonable timeframe, a fully-specified plan, and a realistic budget.
Capacity
In conjunction with the funding and logistical support of our foundation, the applicant has all the necessary resources to accomplish their proposed goals and to carry out the project successfully.
Engagement and Continuity
The applicant understands the importance of sustained commitment to the people they serve.

Eligibility

The Reva and David Logan Foundation (RDLF) only funds 501(c)3 organizations, fiscally-sponsored individuals or organizations, or international applicants with a U.S. based fiscal sponsor or Equivalency Determination Certificate.Organizations must have an annual operating budget of less than $500,000 for at least two of the last four fiscal years to be eligible.
