NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD
This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service (NPS), intention to fund the following project activities without competition.
OVERVIEW
The Greening Youth Foundation (GYF) for the purpose of hiring four GYF Interns to support the research, programming, and dissemination of knowledge regarding the key African-American figures in National Capital Parks- East.
STATEMENT OF JOINT OBJECTIVES/PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN
- Provide consistent and accurate information to the visiting public at National Capital Parks -East.
- Help with applicable research projects.
- Propose social media updates for the various sites within the park.
- Represent National Capital Parks-East at appropriate events.
- Prepare programming appropriate with site designation.
- Research appropriate topics as discussed with supervisor and program manager.
Participate in regional youth activities and serve as mentor during the summer months to other youth employees
RECIPIENT INVOLVEMENT
A. 1. Recruit and place 9 GYF Interns from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds for 30 weeks.
2. Complete an Interim Report and 425 Financial Form on July 31, 2016 and a Final Report and 425 Financial Form on December 15, 2016 in accordance with Article VII.
NATIONAL PARK SERVICE INVOLVEMENT
1. Provide financial assistance in accordance with Article VI.
2. Deliver general orientation to the NPS and NACE parks, along with understanding of the theme of African-American Heritage in the DC community.
3. To arrange for direction and supervision for the Interns.
SINGLE-SOURCE JUSTIFICATION
NPS did not solicit full and open competition for this award based the following criteria:
This ia a modification to an existing Agreement and therefore does not require competition.
