About DPR The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) provides quality urban recreation and leisure services for residents and visitors to the District of Columbia. DPR supervises many of the District of Columbia's recreation/community centers, parks, athletic fields, playgrounds, spray parks, tennis courts, community gardens, dog parks, aquatic facilities and features. The agency also coordinates a wide variety of recreation programs, including sports leagues, youth development, therapeutic recreation, aquatic programming, outdoor adventure, camping, and senior citizen activities. In addition, adaptive programs and facilities are available for persons with disabilities. Rec for All - Fort Dupont Ice Arena Leisure and Competitive Programming Grant Scope DPR is seeking organizations through the competitive grantmaking process to provide inclusive and accessible recreational opportunities to youth in our community. Through our programs and facilities, we strive to promote physical, social, and emotional wellness, foster a sense of community, and enhance the quality of life for youth. We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and encourages lifelong learning, growth, and personal fulfillment. Leisure and Competitive Grant Grantees shall deliver high quality, structured new or existing innovative recreational programmatic offerings that will allow youth to discover new passions. Organizations can request up to $235,000 to support the launch or expansion of a new or existing program. The leisure and competitive programming grant is not for one-time events. Programming must take place at Fort Dupont Ice Arena (3779 Ely Place SE, Washington DC, 20019). DPR will accept applications in the following categories: 1. Leisure Programming (Facilitate Programming with a minimum of 24 hours each week for 36 weeks in the following areas: learn-to-skatefigure skating (developmental/leisure)hockey (skills development)broom ballother ice programming 2. Competitive Programming Establishment of a competitive youth Hockey Team, composing of both boys’ and girls’ teams. The teams must be from at least two divisions, including 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U divisions. Applicants can submit for multiply category but only one category per application.
