Overview

Note: East Texas Communities Foundation has one general application that utilizes a matching tool that asks a series of questions and will match you to all the scholarships you qualify for (students majoring in visual arts, art history, music, music education, theater or dance should also use the Arts Matching Tool in addition to the General Matching Tool). Once you are “matched” you will need to read through the scholarship descriptions, double check you are eligible for the scholarship and complete the general application. You only need to fill out the application one time and it will pre-populate all the scholarships you qualify for. If an application has an additional essay or needs additional materials uploaded (FASFA, acceptance letter, etc.) you will be directed to those sections on the individual application. Don Cowan was a founder of Tyler-based TCA Cable. He and his wife, Frances, appreciated and enjoyed music. They were strong supporters of the arts in Tyler. This scholarship will be awarded to students pursuing music and performing arts studies (music, musical theater, and dance). Students may major in any subject.
