Quality of Life (QOL) Grants

Program Status: Active since spring 2022

Geographic Scope: New England residents

Focus Areas:

• Equipment and modifications for individuals with traumatic spinal cord injuries
• Items that promote independence and quality of life
• Necessities not covered by insurance

Eligibility:

• Individuals living with traumatic spinal cord injury
• New England residents
• Any age encouraged to apply

Award Details:

• Up to $7,500 per grant
• Average grant amount: $4,571
• Grants approved and distributed directly to vendors and contractors for services

Program Background:

• Launched spring 2022
• Designed to bridge the gap between insurance coverage and actual equipment/modification needs
• Helps individuals prepare for life outside hospital settings and regain independence
• Since inception: 83 grants approved, over $375,000 distributed across New England
