Successful proposals align with watershed councils' action agendas. The program promotes community involvement and sustainable practices, ensuring that local ecosystems thrive while fostering educational opportunities.Overview
About the Small Grants Program Pierce County collaborates with local organizations and agencies to offer grants aimed at enhancing environmental literacy and improving habitat and water quality across four watersheds: Nisqually, Puyallup, Chambers-Clover, and KGI. Successful projects align with the current Action Agendas (or workplans) of the watershed councils and may include activities such as riparian plantings, invasive species removal, community clean-up events, nature-based education programs, and rain garden installations. There are no restrictions on who may apply. We encourage nonprofit organizations, schools, teachers, tribes, local governments, and individuals to apply. Be aware that we do not fund profit making, fundraising, lobbying or other advocacy projects. All applicants (individuals or organizations) are responsible for reporting grant income on their federal income taxes. Only complete applications will be accepted.Eligibility
