Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Track (PPT) Grant

Overview: One-time grants for newly matriculated students in the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Track at the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas. Funds can be used for tuition, training fees, supervision, and/or personal treatment.

Status: Active

Geographic Scope: North Carolina and South Carolina (applicants must be licensed in NC or SC)

Focus Areas: Support for psychoanalytic psychotherapy training and education

Eligibility:

  • Newly matriculated students in the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Track (PPT)

  • Applying to matriculate or already accepted to begin training in spring or fall

  • Interested in and committed to developing skills in psychoanalytic psychotherapy (rather than psychoanalysis)

  • Able to use funds to support immersion in the program with focus on coursework, supervision, and personal treatment simultaneously
  • Grant Type: One-time outright gift (not reimbursement)

    Fund Dispersal:

  • Initiated when awarded student enrolls in next semester as matriculated student

  • Tuition funds deducted first

  • Remaining funds dispersed quarterly

  • Recipients must email Business Manager 6-month report with summary of fund usage

  • Any remaining funds returned to PCC if recipient leaves program mid-year
  • Selection Criteria: Preference given to applicants demonstrating:

  • Commitment to psychoanalytic psychotherapy training

  • Ability to engage in simultaneous coursework, supervision, and personal treatment

  • Strong potential for developing psychoanalytic skills
  • Selection Process:

  • Committee consists of members of the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Committee

  • May use PCC application materials and additional information (essays, interviews)

  • Committee decision is final
