Overview

Mission The mission of the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) is to drive efforts to cure psoriatic disease and improve the lives of those affected. Psoriatic Disease Research Fellowships The goal of this award is to provide support to eligible institutions to develop and enhance the opportunities for physicians training for research careers in dermatology, rheumatology, pediatric dermatology, and pediatric rheumatology. Applicants may request up to $50,000 (direct costs only) per year. Institutions are to certify that funds will be applied to stipend, salary, and find benefits only. Fellowship awards are for a one-year project period. A fellow may receive up to a total of three (3) years of funding through subsequent applications.

Eligibility

Psoriatic Disease Research Fellowships may take place at any institution with an eligible fellowship program and devote at least 75% of their effort to research during the project period. Fellowships are primarily intended for those who already hold an M.D., however applications to support exceptionally promising medical students will be accepted. At the time of award activation, the applicant may have no more than five years of research training or experience since obtaining a post-baccalaureate doctoral-level degree.The research project must be focused on psoriasis and/or psoriatic arthritis.The fellow need not be a United States citizen and the fellowship need not take place in the United States.Applications to National Psoriasis Foundation funding opportunities must require budgeting for attendance of the bi-Annual NPF Research Symposium.Registration for NPF funded awardees will be waived, but awardees will be expected to stay in the on-site NPF room block. Awardees should anticipate two nights’ accommodation, airfare, ground transportation, and meal expenses.

Ineligibility

The fellow cannot be a faculty member, or in a residency program, during the project period.
